The Association of Danish professional golf coaches and players, The PGA of Denmark, has named Søren Kjeldsen as its “PGA Pro of the Year 2016.”

The honour is given to a worthy representative of Danish golf and PGA of Denmark; a person, who through his work has achieved “great results” and influences Danish golf.
Søren Kjeldsen represents exactly these attributes, the PGA of Denmark points out.

“Søren Kjeldsen has been a great ambassador of PGA of Denmark and Danish golf throughout his many years as a Pro golfer. 2016 has been a standout season for Søren Kjeldsen, finishing twice in top ten in majors, winning the World Cup with Thorbjørn Olesen, qualifying for full membership of the PGA Tour and top 50 in the World rankings at the end of the year,” reads the reasoning of the board of PGA of Denmark.

“At the same time Søren Kjeldsen has succeeded in inviting the average Danish golfer on board in his everyday life as a Tour player by using social medias. It has been a new and refreshing approach that has sparked even greater interest in Søren and professional golf,” it continues.

Søren Kjeldsen is honoured by the nomination and greatly appreciates the title.

“I’m really honoured by being named PGA Pro of the Year. Firstly it’s a great pad on the shoulders from the Danish golfing society, fellow players and coaches in Denmark. Secondly it is always great to be able to give something back to golfers and my supporters and experience that my work is being appreciated. This is of course humbling,” Søren Kjeldsen responds.

The PGA of Denmark is the Association for Danish professional golf coaches and players.

The PGA of Denmark was founded in September 1971, and today, it represents around 188 clubs and over 300 coaches and tour players.
